The Niners Chemnitz basketball team have conceded their third home defeat of the season. The players of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore lost 83:95 (47:51) in front of their home crowd against second-placed Löwen Baskets Braunschweig. Arnas Velicka (19 points), Barra Njie (17), TJ Crockett Jr. (15) and Tre Mitchell (12) played the biggest part in the victory for the club from Lower Saxony. Only Victor Bailey Jr. (28), William Christmas (17) and Olivier Nkamhoua (12) scored in double figures for the Niners.
The home side was 16:11 ahead after seven minutes. But then the game broke. The club from Lower Saxony sparked the turnaround with a 9:2 run to make it 20:18 in the 10th minute and continuously extended its lead to 72:57 in the 27th minute. Chemnitz conceded too many easy shots and was no longer able to stop Braunschweig's attacks. Added to that was its inferiority under the baskets. Braunschweig grabbed 37 rebounds, Chemnitz only 30.
