Chances galore, but no goals: Dynamo Dresden missed the chance to distance themselves from the direct competition for promotion to the second Bundesliga. Although they extended their lead at the top of the table to two points with a 0-0 draw against Borussia Dortmund II, this may well not be enough in the final reckoning. Or not, as coach Thomas Stamm said after the game.
"Nevertheless, and I said this to the boys in the dressing room, nobody can look into a crystal ball and know what the point might be worth in the end," said Stamm. The draw feels bitter at the moment because they were clearly superior and wanted to win at all costs.
What Dresden lacked was a cool head in front of goal. There were big chances almost by the minute, especially in the first half. "The first 45 minutes were some of the best of the season. We haven't created so many chances and opportunities so far this season. The only thing we have to criticize today is our chance conversion," summed up the Dynamo coach.
