The women of RB Leipzig have brought in a prominent reinforcement for their attack. On Sunday, the women's Bundesliga club announced the signing of Mimmi Larsson. The 29-year-old Swede last played for Kansas City Current in the USA until the beginning of the year. The experienced striker made 30 appearances for the Swedish national team, scoring six goals in the process.
"Mimmi is a fast, robust and internationally experienced striker. With her qualities, she gives our offense more flexibility," said Viola Odebrecht, Head of Women's and Girls' Football at RB, about the transfer. The transfer had become necessary because the Bundesliga promotion contenders were lacking penetration, particularly in attack. On Saturday, Leipzig lost 2-0 to SC Freiburg at the end of the first half of the Bundesliga season and are still fighting to stay in the league.
