Basketball Bundesliga club Syntainics MBC continues to rely on playmaker Charles Callison. The 29-year-old American has extended his contract with the club from Weißenfels for a further season. The MBC made the announcement on Wednesday.
"Extending Charles for a third season is a huge step for Syntainics MBC in building a strong new squad. For me, Charles is one of the ten best players in the league at his position and shows his commitment to our club by re-signing early," said MBC Managing Director Martin Geissler.
In addition, Geissler secured the position with Aleksa Kovacevic, who joins the Bundesliga 13th from Serbian first division club KK Sloga Kraljevo. MBC fans still have fond memories of the 22-year-old from the 2022/2023 season. Back then, the Serbian still played with a dual license for cooperation partner BSW Sixers in the ProB.
In the final game of the season against Crailsheim, he came on as a substitute for the injured Callison and contributed 11 points and four assists to the 79:69 home win and the resulting relegation playoff spot. The MBC had already signed a new head coach in Latvian Janis Gailitis at the start of the week.
