RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi has been discharged from hospital following his violent collision with David Zec of Holstein Kiel. According to the club, the Hungarian international goalkeeper suffered a concussion and an injury to his right ear during the 1-1 draw in the 62nd minute.
The 34-year-old was allowed to leave the hospital at around 9.00 am on Easter Sunday and stopped by the Bundesliga club's training center on his way home. "All in all, it was a disappointing afternoon," Gulacsi wrote on Instagram.
The goalkeeper has been undergoing the German Football League's (DFL) protocol for head injuries since today. In a multi-stage process, the symptoms must first have subsided and then the load is increased based on various criteria. A match against Frankfurt on Saturday is currently open.

Just under half an hour before the end of the game against Kiel, Gulacsi and Zec, who had rushed out of his goal, collided at full speed. According to their coaches, both players briefly lost consciousness. During the minutes-long treatment, there was an oppressive silence in the stadium and Gulacsi was finally transported from the pitch on a stretcher to applause.
Leipzig had published a photo of Gulacsi from the hospital that evening. Lying in bed, the veteran had his thumb pointing upwards, with crusted blood visible on his right ear.
