Before the difficult away assignment at SC Freiburg, Leipzig's ailing coach Marco Rose has opted for an unusual measure. As the Bundesliga club announced, the team will leave for a two-and-a-half-day short training camp in Salzburg on Wednesday evening after a session at Leipzig's Cottaweg. From there, they will travel on to Freiburg on Friday afternoon.
After just one win from their last seven Bundesliga games, RB will only really be able to progress with a victory in the top match at Breisgau this Saturday (18:30/Sky). The hosts, who have picked up a whopping 13 points from their last five games, are two points ahead of Leipzig in fifth place.
Only the injured remain in Leipzig
The Saxons will travel to Austria with their entire squad, including staff, where they will use the facilities of sister club FC Red Bull Salzburg. Only the injured Benjamin Henrichs, Assan Ouedraogo, Antonio Nusa and Xaver Schlager will continue to work on their comeback in the RB academy.
After the 2:1 home defeat against FSV Mainz 05 last Saturday, Leipzig are still only sixth in the Bundesliga and three points separate RB from a Champions League place. Rose is also expected to sit on the bench in Freiburg and coach the team.
