Slight increase in the number of businesses in Saxony

The number of companies in Saxony increased by 1,227 last year. A total of 26,484 business registrations and 25,257 business deregistrations were registered in 2024, according to the State Statistical Office. At 21.5 percent of registered businesses, retail was the most strongly represented economic sector. A good three quarters of the registrations were for sole proprietorships, 37.5 percent of which were run by women and 62.5 percent by men.
