From November, train services are expected to be restricted due to extensive renovation work at Hoyerswerda station. The work is part of a modernization project that includes the addition of elevators and a new passenger underpass and will be carried out in various stages until 2026, as announced by Deutsche Bahn.
The station will be completely closed to train traffic from November 1 to November 4 for preparatory work on the overhead lines, Deutsche Bahn announced. The lines affected are the RE 11 to Leipzig, the RE 15 to Dresden and the RB 64 in the direction of Görlitz. A replacement bus service is to be set up between Hoyerswerda and Hosena.
From 4 November, platforms one and two will be closed for the modernization of the platforms until probably mid-2025. All trains will then depart from platforms three and four. According to current information, the passenger underpass will continue to be usable on one side. From summer 2025 until mid-2026, this will then take place in reverse.
