Motorcyclist seriously injured in unsuccessful overtaking maneuver

A motorcyclist has left the road and been seriously injured after an unsuccessful overtaking maneuver on a state road in the municipality of Parthenstein (Leipzig district). The 28-year-old was taken to hospital, according to the police. He wanted to overtake a car on a long right-hand bend, but lost control and veered off the road to the left. Until the emergency services arrived, passing road users provided first aid. The police estimate the damage caused at around 15,000 euros.
