The Landesbühnen Sachsen is a multi-genre theater. They offer musical theater, drama and dance, in the main building in Radebeul and at guest venues - including schools and daycare centers.

The Landesbühnen Sachsen will be presenting 20 premieres in musical theater, drama, dance and puppet theater in Radebeul and at guest venues in the coming season, including three world premieres. According to the announcement, the season will kick off on September 29 with theater tours, a gala and the first performances of the Georg Kreisler evening "Opernboogie" and Thomas Bernhard's play "Der Theatermacher".

In addition to classics such as the Greek comedy "Lysistrata", Johann Strauss'
operetta "Die Fledermaus" and Gaetano Donizetti's "The Love Potion", more recent works will be staged: Sibylle Berg's "And Surely the World Has Disappeared with Me" and the play "Blueprint" by author Leonie Lorena Wyss. Meanwhile, the comedy "The Perfect Secret" and the opera "The Lions Face" about an Altzheimer's patient, a German premiere, are familiar from the cinema.

The comedy "Restaurant Ta Gueule", the dance evening "Im Puls" and the family dance theater "Fantasia steht Kopf" are new to the stage. The opera "Amahl und die nächtlichen Besucher" with the US soprano and director Julia Mintzer will be produced for Christmas.

Help for people with visual or hearing impairments

The junge.studio of the Landesbühnen works with over 50 cooperation partners, daycare centers, schools and educational institutions in the region. New additions to the repertoire include the classroom play "Harder, Faster, Stronger", the children's opera "Three Old Men Wouldn't Die" and the puppet theater "The Story of the Fox Who Lost His Mind".

The Landesbühnen work with people with disabilities in several plays. "This is an interdisciplinary topic," said Artistic Director Manuel Schöbel. For example, a child with a walking disability plays the corresponding character in the Christmas opera and a dancer with a disability plays an actress with trisomy 21 in "The Perfect Secret". In certain performances, the stage already uses audio description for the visually impaired and blind - and vibration belts for the deaf and deafened.
