Fatherly bliss and vacation plans: singer and composer Matthias Reim wants to take a step back in the next year and a half. "I am once again experiencing massive family happiness, father happiness and have changed my attitude. I'm often at home, do a lot with my little daughter and love being around her," the artist told the German Press Agency in Dresden. Of course, he will also be giving big concerts at a few selected venues this year - in the city on the Elbe, for example, he will be giving two open-air concerts in the Großer Garten on May 17 and 18.
In the past, he was rather driven and was not able to enjoy his time as a father with his children as much, Reim confessed. "It can't be like that, I only want to do half of it." The family also has a refuge - a small vacation home on Lake Como in northern Italy. "I bought it so that we could take some time out as a family. With a home, office and studio, you never really get away from your working life."
So next summer, Reim wants to spend a lot of time at Lake Como - with his then three-year-old daughter, the other children and his wife. "Eating out, barbecuing in the garden in the evening, hanging out by the pool or exploring the area by boat. I want to experience it all. After that, I can get back to it."
At the moment, Reim is not thinking about a new album. The new album "Zeppelin" was only released at the end of April. "Actually, after the album is always before the album. But I have so many concerts this year that I don't have time to think about a new album. I also need to gather impressions again first. Life goes on and then I'll have something to talk about again. This year and next year are practically over."
