The Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge district administration office has declared the local election in Reichstädt - a district of Dippoldiswalde - invalid. During the election on June 9, the local electoral board did not have any ballot papers for the local council election for around three hours. During this time, voters were able to cast their votes for the European elections, city council elections and district council elections, but not for the local council. 137 voters were affected by this. The Dippoldiswalde town council had already decided to repeat the Reichstädt local council election with the state election on September 1, 2024. In the election for the local council on 9 June, the Reichstädt electoral association won six seats, the Left Party one.
