Activists from the climate group Last Generation blocked Dresden's Carola Bridge on Saturday afternoon. The police were on site, a spokesperson said on request. The police did not initially provide any information on the number of participants. A reporter at the scene spoke of a small group of around 50 activists who took it in turns to sit on the road and block traffic. According to initial findings, none of the participants were stuck.
The climate group had previously called for a "disobedient assembly" under the motto "Democracy needs honesty". The "disobedient assemblies" are part of the Last Generation's new strategy. According to the climate group, these are peaceful street blockades with many people.
