Saxony's SPD leader Homann sees the BSW's abandonment of the exploratory talks as a "rigged game".

Dresden (dps/sn) - Saxony's SPD chairman Henning Homann sees the reason for the failure of the exploratory talks between the CDU, BSW and SPD in "the power-political calculations" of BSW federal leader Sarah Wagenknecht and BSW state leader Sabine Zimmermann. In recent weeks, it has become clear in many places, whenever things have become concrete, that it can work, said Homann.

He called the BSW's abandonment of the talks "a set-up." Wagenknecht and Zimmermann were prepared to "sacrifice the well-being of the people of Saxony to their power-political calculations".

"As Social Democrats, we are still prepared to take responsibility," said Homann. The committees will now discuss the next steps. The SPD state executive committee will meet this evening.
