The Niners Chemnitz basketball team remains in contention to qualify directly for the play-offs. The club from Saxony won its game at bottom-of-the-table Fit/One Würzburg Baskets by 90:83 (40:36) and cemented its fifth place in the German Basketball League with its 13th win of the season. DeAndre Lansdowne, Jacob Gilyard (16 each), Kevin Yebo (12), Olivier Nkamhoua (11) and Nicolas Tischler (10) played the biggest part in the win. Only Davion Mintz (22), Zachary Seljaas (17) and Mike Lewis (16) scored in double figures for the home side.
Only trailed once
The players of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore only trailed once (0:2 in the 1st minute) and then produced an 11:0 run to make it 11:2 (4th minute). The Niners were not unsettled by the fact that they tied the scores at 21:21 (12'), pulled 30:21 ahead (14') and were always slightly in front up to the start of the final quarter (62:57). Chemnitz produced a 12:2 run to make it 74:59 in the 33rd minute to decide the encounter. The basis for the success was the outstanding three-point percentage of 42 percent. 14 of the 33 attempts from beyond the arc landed in Würzburg's basket.
