Three games without a win, two of them lost: RB Leipzig is in a results crisis. Coach Marco Rose cites the heavy workload as one of the reasons.

RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose sees the heavy workload on players as an increasingly unsolvable problem and a reason for injuries at top clubs. "I don't even want to think about how a club that is also playing in the Club World Cup next summer is doing. The development is simply more than borderline," said Rose after the 0-0 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach. It was the third winless game in a row.

Rose had to replace four regular players and had a similar problem to many of his colleagues. "For me, there are clear links between injuries at Real Madrid, Manchester City, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and many other clubs," said the 48-year-old. "The frequency of games for international players - that's too much."

Lack of training, many injuries

Real Madrid are currently missing key players such as goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba, Eder Militao and Daniel Carvajal. At City, Ballon d'Or winner Rodri and England internationals Jack Grealish and John Stones have to be replaced. Coach Pep Guardiola's star ensemble has lost four in a row recently.

Leipzig lost at Borussia Dortmund (1:2) and Celtic Glasgow (1:3) before the draw against Gladbach. Xavi Simons, David Raum and Xaver Schlager have been missing for weeks, and defender Castello Lukeba has recently joined them.

The clubs that do not play internationally would be able to train differently, said Rose. "That still means we have to deal with this resistance," said the coach. He could live with the point against Gladbach "because my team showed what I demanded", even if not "everything was rosy and great". Since the start of the season, there has not been a week where a session on offensive switching or pressing could be held.
