Bayern defeated 1. FC Saarbrücken to hand Dynamo Dresden their first defeat in seven games. The third-division soccer club lost the catch-up match against 1. FC Saarbrücken 0:1 (0:1) in the 3rd Football League on Sunday, but still remain top of the table. Kai Brünker scored the decisive goal in front of 14,352 spectators at the Ludwigsparkstadion in the 41st minute.
In the ninth minute, Saarbrücken had the first great chance to take the lead. Brünker was alone in front of the Dynamo goal, but just missed. The game was then evenly poised until Brünker got his second chance shortly before the break. After a cross from Calogero Rizzuto, Brünker (41) was able to convert the header this time.
In the second half, the two teams alternated with dangerous actions in the penalty area. Overall, the game became much more intense. Dresden increased the pressure, especially in the final quarter of an hour, and almost equalized through Jakob Lemmer in the 76th minute. The Elbe club also had a chance to equalize in the 90th minute, but FCS keeper Tim Schreiber made a brilliant save. Despite several dangerous situations, Dynamo were unable to equalize in the eleven minutes of stoppage time and suffered defeat after four wins in a row.
