The handball players of BSV Sachsen Zwickau have decided the groundbreaking basement duel against HSV Solingen-Gräfrath in their favor. Coach Norman Rentsch's charges came out on top 29:28 (16:15) against the newly promoted club in front of their home crowd on Saturday and moved out of the relegation zone for the time being with their fourth win of the season. Simona Stojkovska (10) and Rita Lakatos (8/4) played the biggest part in Zwickau's success. Paulina Uscinowicz (5), Carina Senel (4) and Lara Karathanassis (4/4) scored the most goals for Solingen.
However, the home side got off to a false start in the clash with the penultimate club and trailed 2:5 after eight minutes. However, Zwickau tied the scores again at 7:7 in the 15th minute. The game was on a knife's edge until 19:19 (36'). The club from Saxony then produced a 5:1 run to make it 24:20 (42'). The visitors fought their way back to 27:28 (57'), but BSV saved the narrow lead.
