The second home game with coach Jens Härtel also failed to produce a win. Erzgebirge Aue at least avoided a home defeat thanks to a solo effort from Mika Clausen in the 89th minute. The Saxons put in a weak performance in the 1:1 (0:1) draw against Alemannia Aachen. Daouda Beleme (10th minute) had given the visitors an early lead. After that, not much happened in the match. Aue dropped to eleventh place in the table.
After the 1:2 at Dynamo Dresden and the goalless draw against VfL Osnabrück before that, Härtel, who lost his debut 2:1 at Hannover 96 II to start the second half of the season, is still waiting for his first win.
Aue got off to a furious start without Erik Majetschak, who was injured in training (muscle problems), and created several chances. But Aachen scored the goal: Aue goalkeeper Martin Männel, who was slightly under pressure, did not look good at a corner from the left. His misplaced fist save landed right at the feet of Beleme, who lashed the ball into the goal from five meters.
Aue continued to create chances, but lacked determination. Only a strong individual action from new signing Clausen, who took heart from 25 meters and hammered the ball into the left corner, saved the one point.
