Ahead of the clash with Bayer Leverkusen, the Saxons are twelve points behind the league leaders, and a defeat would mean a gap of 15. In addition, Leipzig have recently failed to win twice in a row. "Leverkusen have a great team at all levels," said coach Marco Rose. "They have built up the confidence and self-image to win games this season." Leverkusen are the only team in the league still without a defeat.
