First six games without defeat, now two in a row: FC Erzgebirge Aue has not digested the derby defeat at Dynamo Dresden a week ago well. The 0:1 (0:0) on Sunday evening against SSV Jahn Regensburg also meant the first home defeat this season. And it was a home-made one. Because the hosts found before 10,533 spectators never to their play.
"We lacked the match luck", said coach Pavel Dotchev with the Internet transmitter "MagentaSport". However, it was not only that. Because Erzgebirge lacked above all the means to seriously embarrass the very strong defending Regensburg. "It was a game of patience from the start. And the team didn't have that patience. They didn't play out the attacks consistently," said Dotchev, but didn't want to pass the baton on the team: "I'm taking a lot of positive things with me. Just not the result."
Defensive player Tim Danhof regretted that the announced redemption for the derby defeat did not succeed. "It was a strange evening. We were dominant, but forward it has been missing," said Danhof.
It was striking that the Auer did not manage to take apart the very well stacked Regensburg defense even close. "They fought passionately. They played a strong attacking pressing," Dotchev said in praise of the opponents, who are still unbeaten in foreign stadiums this season.
