Ilaix Moriba will continue to play in Spain in the new season. The 21-year-old has been loaned out by Bundesliga club RB Leipzig to first division side Celta Vigo. The two clubs also agreed a purchase option for the midfielder, who moved to Leipzig from FC Barcelona in 2021 but did not make more than six brief appearances.
He was loaned out to Valencia FC from 2022 to 2023 and played for FC Getafe last season. "Ilaix is still a player with great potential, as he showed both at Getafe and recently at the Olympic Games. He needs to continue to get regular playing time in order to be able to tap into this on a permanent basis. Celta Vigo can offer him this opportunity," said RB sporting director Rouven Schröder
RB once paid FC Barcelona 16 million euros for the talented player. However, problems adapting to RB soccer and overconfidence ensured that the Guinea international was unable to establish himself in Leipzig.
