Football Bundesliga club RB Leipzig also released Hugo Novoa on loan on Friday evening at the end of the summer transfer period. As the Saxon club announced, the Spaniard moves to the Dutch first division club FC Utrecht until June 30, 2024. Previously, Caden Clark had already been given on loan to Denmark to second-division club Vendsyssel FF Hjörring.

Novoa had changed from Deportivo La Coruna to the U17 of RB Leipzig in 2019. The right winger then went through all RB junior classes before he was already part of the professional squad of the DFB Cup winner from 2021. To give him more match practice, RB loaned the now 20-year-old to FC Basel in January. There, however, he did not get enough assignments, so that the Leipzigers brought him back early in June.

In total, he has so far played 28 Bundesliga games for the Leipzigers, scoring two goals. His goal in the 4:1 over Greuther Fürth on October 23, 2021 made him the youngest Bundesliga scorer of the Saxons. Novoa also played in the DFB Cup, the Champions League and the Europa League. Due to the high level of competition in RB's attack, the Spaniard was tested as a right-back in pre-season.
