RB Leipzig international David Raum is out for the time being. As the Bundesliga club announced, the full-back suffered an ankle injury in the 1-0 defeat in Heidenheim on Sunday and will therefore not be available to national team coach Julian Nagelsmann during the national team week. The 26-year-old has already left the DFB quarters in Herzogenaurach. Further examinations will take place in Leipzig.
RB coach Marco Rose is missing a further 15 players who are on duty with their respective nations this week. Benjamin Henrichs for Germany, Christoph Baumgartner and Nicolas Seiwald for Austria, Benjamin Sesko for Slovenia, Willi Orban for Hungary, Xavi Simons and Lutsharel Geertruida for the Netherlands, Yussuf Poulsen for Denmark, Antonia Nusa for Norway and Eljif Elmas for North Macedonia are all represented in the Nations League. In addition, Lois Openda has been called up for Belgium and goalkeeper Marten Vandevoort for the first time in the senior team.
Two returnees
In addition, Amadou Haidara will compete with Mali in the Africa Cup, while Castello Jr. and Arthur Vermeeren will represent France and Belgium respectively in the U20 European Championship qualifiers.
On Tuesday, however, two players were also able to return to the team and complete parts of team training. Kevin Kampl was back on the pitch following his adductor injury. The same applied to Assan Ouedraogo, who has recovered from his knee injury.
