Dynamo Dresden is continuing its collaboration with its honorary captain Ulf Kirsten. After two years as a consultant, the 100-time international will now act as a brand ambassador for the Saxon third-division soccer club. He will support Dynamo at sponsor meetings and club events in future, the Saxons announced ahead of the third division clash against SC Verl today (4.30pm/MagentaSport).
"We are delighted that with Ulf we can continue to involve a true club legend in the important areas of activity of our sporting community. He is highly respected not only in Dresden but also beyond the region and has played a key role in shaping both our club and German soccer as a whole. It is all the more important to us that he represents SGD and thus plays a significant role in our external image," said Dynamo's Managing Director Communications, David Fischer.
Kirsten played for Dynamo from 1979 to 1990 before moving to Bayer 04 Leverkusen after reunification. He won the championship twice and the cup three times with the Dresdeners. Kirsten scored a total of 79 goals in 210 competitive matches for Dynamo.
