Fans in Dresden can look forward to a world-class field in the discus throw at the Golden Oval athletics meeting. Olympic champion Valarie Allman has confirmed her participation in the competition on 1 June in the Heinz Steyer Stadium, as the organizers announced. The German representatives at the start will be Olympic fourth-placed Marike Steinacker (TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen), Olympic sixth-placed Claudine Vita (SC Neubrandenburg) and Olympic finalist Kristin Pudenz (OSC Potsdam).

Long jumper Malaika Mihambo (LG Kurpfalz), 2021 Olympic champion, and shot putter Yemisi Ogunleye (MTG Mannheim), gold medal winner from Paris, had already confirmed their participation. The German Championships will also be held in the Saxon state capital this year from July 31 to August 3.
