Janis Blaswich has been called up by national coach Julian Nagelsmann for the last international matches of the year. The 32-year-old goalkeeper has been rewarded for his recent excellent performances in the RB Leipzig shirt. "Janis is a goalkeeper who is a good footballer but is also very strong on the line and has good charisma," said Nagelsmann on Friday at the nomination ceremony. The former RB coach had "never met Blaswich personally, but only as an opponent, and he was positively crazy after the game, getting extremely excited when they didn't win. That always impressed me a lot, the way he stood back there."
The national coach nominated 27 players for his home debut against Turkey on November 18 in Berlin and the clash against Austria in Vienna three days later. Benjamin Henrichs, who was recently injured, is back in the DFB squad. In contrast, David Raum was not included this time compared to the national coach's debut in October against the USA (3:1) and Mexico (2:2). Once again, Leipzig striker Timo Werner was not included.
