The inflation rate in Saxony fell slightly in April. According to preliminary figures from the State Statistical Office in Kamenz, the annual inflation rate was 2.4 percent - 0.1 percentage points lower than in March. After an increase last month, inflation is now falling again.
Food more expensive, energy cheaper
People had to dig deeper into their pockets for food and non-alcoholic beverages (up 3.7 percent) compared to April 2024. The price increase was particularly high for fresh vegetables at 7.6 percent and for cooking fats and oils at 5.8 percent.

Seasonal effects drive prices up
