Local transport tickets in eastern Saxony will be seven percent more expensive from August. The increase will apply to the entire range of tickets, with the exception of the cross-border Euro-Neisse-Ticket+ and special tickets, according to the Zweckverband Verkehrsverbund Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien (ZVON). The reason given was higher running costs for the transport companies.
There are no plans to cut services for the timetable change in December, but additional trains will be added on two lines. On the RE1 between Dresden and Bischofswerda, an additional departure in the afternoon will provide relief during rush hour. The RB64 between Görlitz and Hoyerswerda will also have an additional train, so that from 2026 there will be an hourly connection on weekdays from 12 noon to 5 pm. The exact start depends on the progress of construction work at Hoyerswerda station.
The ZVON is responsible for local public transport in the district of Görlitz and in the east of the district of Bautzen.
