The restaurant "Kastenmeiers" in the Taschenbergpalais in Dresden not only offers excellent culinary experiences for its guests, but also outstanding training for future top chefs and restaurant specialists. The acquisition of a second flambé trolley will further enhance the quality of training, as trainees will have the opportunity to learn and perfect cooking and flambéing directly at the table.

From August, "Kastenmeiers" will once again be training restaurant specialists itself. Gerd Kastenmeier, the owner of the restaurant, is proud that his employee Janina Hartwig has successfully passed her trainer aptitude test. "Now we can start with our own trainees in the restaurant area!" says Kastenmeier. Working with the flambé trolley is an important part of the vocational training and offers the trainees the opportunity to learn this special service for guests.

Janina Hartwig, who herself completed her training as a hotel specialist at the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden, has known the "Kastenmeiers" since her training days. She has been a permanent employee at Kastenmeiers since August 2022 and now works as a restaurant supervisor. She emphasizes the importance of practical training: "The fact that our trainees can practice cooking and flambéing at the table is a great advantage. This guest service has always been part of vocational training, but is offered in fewer and fewer restaurants."

Up to two trainee chefs and two restaurant specialists can start their training at "Kastenmeiers" each year. These apprenticeships are in high demand, as the restaurant not only offers first-class training, but also the opportunity to work in an international team. From August, two new restaurant specialists will be taken on, including a trainee from Egypt. This means that employees from seven nations will be working at "Kastenmeiers": Montenegro, Japan, Egypt, Russia, Republic of Moldova, Italy and Germany.

The training at "Kastenmeiers" is intensive and practice-oriented. Trainees learn how to impress guests and create an unforgettable culinary experience. The flambé trolley plays a central role in this. Not only lobster spaghetti and the classic dessert crêpe suzette are prepared here, but also the new highlight, pepper steak. "The preparation at the table is always an eye-catcher, even for the other guests. Nowadays, people don't go to a restaurant primarily because they're hungry, but to experience something," explains Gerd Kastenmeier.

The "Kastenmeiers" is not only known for its outstanding cuisine, but also receives consistently positive reviews on tripadvisor. Guests praise the excellent quality of the food, the perfect service and the pleasant ambience. "Perfect fish! Perfect wine! Perfect service! Perfect ambience! Perfect couple's evening...thank you so much!" writes one enthusiastic guest. Another review reads: "Outstanding food with impeccable service. Highly recommended. Spent a great evening with friends in a very pleasant atmosphere."

For aspiring chefs and restaurant specialists, the "Kastenmeiers" offers training at the highest level and creates the best conditions for a successful career. Here, trainees not only learn the basics of their profession, but also how to delight guests with unique experiences. The "Kastenmeiers" therefore remains one of the best addresses in Dresden, both for gourmets and for future top chefs.
