With the rising temperatures, many festival fans are looking forward to good music, camping and partying. These major festivals will take place in Saxony in 2024:
Traditional jazz at the Dixieland Festival in Dresden
Fans of jazz, blues, boogie and swing will get their money's worth at the festival for traditional jazz, the international Dixieland Festival in Dresden. From May 12 to 19, more than 45 bands and soloists from more than ten nations will perform on around 40 stages throughout Dresden. Venues include the Kulturpalast, the zoo, the airport and the Hofwiese beer garden. Tickets are currently still available for almost all events. However, the festival also offers numerous free open-air concerts. Last year, around 340,000 visitors attended.
Wave-Gotik-Treffen der Schwarzen Szene in Leipzig
The Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig is inviting fans of the scene for the 31st time this year. From 17 to 20 May, the organizers are expecting around 20,000 visitors. The events will take place at around 40 venues in and around Leipzig. These include the Agra Trade Fair Park, the Monument to the Battle of the Nations, the Krystallpalast Varieté Leipzig, the Grassi Museums and the Schauspielhaus. A ticket for all four days costs 170 euros in advance. Visitors will be offered music from all genres of the dark scene - including gothic rock, electro, dark wave, medieval rock and industrial.
Rock n'roll at the Firebirds Festival in Trebsen
At the Firebirds Festival in Trebsen, visitors can immerse themselves in the lifestyle of the 50s and 60s. From July 5 to 7, there will be more than 30 rock n' roll concerts as well as a vintage car meeting, fashion shows, a record fair and numerous workshops. A ticket for all three days costs 100 euros.
Highfield at Störmthaler See near Leipzig
The Highfield Festival at Störmthaler See near Leipzig promises a summer feeling by the lake from August 16 to 18. The line-up includes national and international stars from the rock, hip-hop and pop scene. Among others, Peter Fox, Rise Against, Cro, Macklemore, Marsimoto and Mando Diao have been announced. The festival pass for the whole weekend costs 199 euros.
Reggae festival Colors of Beat in Mehderitzsch
On 6 and 7 September, the Colors of Beat Festival invites reggae fans to Mehderitzsch. In addition to reggae and ska music, the festival offers numerous workshops and art exhibitions in a relaxed atmosphere by the lake. This year, acts such as Mellow Mood, Liedfett, Treesha & Run it and Meta and the Cornerstones have already been announced. A weekend ticket including camping is available for 60 euros.
