The hotel and catering industry is currently having less difficulty finding trainees than it did a few years ago. Nevertheless, it wants to continue advertising its jobs.

The hospitality industry in Saxony is once again recording rising trainee numbers, but still wants to continue promoting the sector. The hotel and restaurant association Dehoga is therefore organizing a "Trend(Job)Tour". Practical consultants are invited to get to know the different working environments in the industry.

The idea is to win over the practical advisors so that they can later pass on their enthusiasm for the tourism industry in schools, said Dehoga Managing Director Axel Klein. The consultants offer career guidance in schools.

According to Dehoga, the number of trainees in Saxony's hospitality industry is currently on the rise. The increase has been between three and five percent in recent years. "The companies are finding trainees again," said Klein. However, advertising is still necessary. "You always have to keep at it."
