Ceremony to mark the Day of German Unity in the State Parliament in Dresden

The Day of German Unity will be celebrated with a ceremony in the Saxon state parliament. Interested citizens can register to attend. The ceremony will also be streamed.

Citizens can attend the Day of German Unity ceremony at the State Parliament in Dresden as guests on October 3. However, it is necessary to register in advance - it starts at 10.00 a.m., the state parliament announced. Places are limited and will be allocated according to the order of registration, it said.

Those wishing to take part can register by September 25 by sending an email to protokoll@slt.sachsen.de. The email must include the full name, date of birth and address.

The ceremony will also be broadcast live on the state parliament's YouTube channel. Members of the state and federal parliaments, members of the Constitutional Court and the state government as well as public figures will take part. The keynote speaker will be Matthias Grünberg, President of the Saxon Constitutional Court. The ceremony will be accompanied by music from the male octet of the choir ensemble Sonus Aeternus from Dresden.
