A complaint has been filed against a Saxon police trainee on suspicion of incitement to hatred. The trainee at the Schneeberg Police College is said to have made anti-Semitic remarks on Tuesday after an excursion to a Jewish cemetery. According to the Saxon Police College, it has initiated criminal and civil service proceedings against the man.
"National Socialist and anti-Semitic ideas have no place in the Saxon police force," explained Rector Dirk Benkendorff. The police candidate was banned from carrying out his duties. The case has been forwarded to the public prosecutor's office.
Trainees at the police academy have already attracted attention on several occasions in the past. Last December, a 22-year-old was suspended for allegedly racially insulting another police trainee. In October 2023, an 18-year-old was suspended shortly after starting his training on suspicion of right-wing extremism.
