Almost two weeks after the state election, the state election committee has determined the official final result. There have been no new changes to the distribution of seats.

After a software glitch in the calculation of the distribution of seats in the new state parliament and disputes over manipulated ballot papers in some constituencies, the state election committee has now determined the final official result of the state election in Saxony. According to the results, there have been no new changes in the distribution of seats. The CDU, the winner of the election, has 41 seats, while the AfD has 40 seats. This means that the AfD does not have a blocking minority in the new state parliament.

The BSW follows with 15 seats, the SPD with 10, the Greens with 7 and the Left Party with 6. There is also a direct mandate won by Grimma mayor Matthias Berger for the Free Voters.

The manipulated ballot papers found in some constituencies had already been declared invalid by the district election committees. They were therefore not included in the final election result. The state election committee had decided to make a correction in constituency 25 - Leipzig 1. This involved the incorrect attribution of 32 list votes. However, this had no relevance to the mandate.

The elected candidates will now be notified by the state electoral officer and asked to declare in writing within one week whether they accept the election. The new state parliament must be constituted by October 1.
