Hundreds of people demonstrated in Dresden on Saturday against a gathering of the "lateral thinking" scene, which was also supported by so-called Reich citizens and the far-right Free Saxons. "We are satisfied with the response," said a spokesman for the "Herz statt Hetze" alliance. He spoke of 600 to 800 people who had responded to the call for a counter-demonstration. They had moved from the university grounds to Theaterplatz within earshot and sight of the rally. On posters they spoke out against fascism and for tolerance.

According to police, both gatherings in the afternoon have proceeded for the time being without major disturbances.

To the rally under the title "Demo for peace and freedom - reformation of society" on the Theaterplatz had been expected up to 3000 participants. The actual number was estimated in the afternoon significantly below. Participants waved Russian flags, flags of the Free Saxons and old imperial flags. Posters read, for example, "This government is ruining Germany" or "Create peace without weapons". According to police, a parade through the city center was still planned in the afternoon.
