The Saxon state parliament will discuss the threat of job losses in the automotive industry on Thursday (from 10.00 a.m.). The topic was put on the agenda at the request of the Left Party. The CDU parliamentary group then wants to discuss measures to safeguard teaching. So far in the current school year, 9.4 percent of lessons have been canceled. The last item on the agenda is state development. The AfD suspects a standstill here and therefore has a need for discussion.
Later, the draft law on educational leave will be discussed at first reading. Alongside Bavaria, Saxony is the only federal state in which the right to educational leave has not yet been enshrined in law. The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) is also making another attempt to strengthen popular legislation by law. The Greens are calling for a bicycle campaign in the Free State. The BSW also wants visits to memorial sites to be compulsory for schoolchildren.
