The goalscorer is back at FC Bayern. After the 2-1 defeat in Mainz, Harry Kane is set to fire Munich to victory against Leipzig. Vincent Kompany once again emphasizes what makes Kane so valuable.

FC Bayern Munich can call on star striker Harry Kane again in the final match of the year. "I won't say whether he will start or not. The final training session is still important today. If everything goes well, he'll definitely play a part tomorrow," said coach Vincent Kompany ahead of Friday's home game against RB Leipzig (8.30pm/Sat.1/DAZN).

Full-back Alphonso Davies is also back in training after missing out due to a torn muscle fiber, just like Kane. Like Serge Gnabry, he is likely to be a candidate for the game against Leipzig after suffering knee problems. However, Gnabry has only trained a little, said Kompany.

Break is "very good"

"It was good to have some players back in training," said the Belgian coach. "More players will join us on January 2. That's why the break is very good now." Missing from the home game against Leipzig will be Manuel Neuer (rib fracture), Hiroki Ito (recovery training after metatarsal fracture), João Palhinha (torn muscle bundle), Josip Stanisic (recovery training) and Kingsley Coman (recovery training after muscle fiber tear).

Kompany is relieved about the comeback of his top striker. "We said beforehand that we couldn't replace Harry Kane one-to-one. Harry has this incredible sense of where he needs to be in the sixteen," said the coach. "He also helped us a lot in defending. He's one of the best in the world in the sixteen - he makes the difference there. There aren't many players who can do that."
