The Niners Chemnitz basketball team has continued its run of success in the German league. The club from Saxony won its home game against EWE Baskets Oldenburg by 87:78 (46:39) and cemented its place in the play-off places with its fifth win in a row. The outstanding DeAndre Lansdowne (28) played the biggest part in the Niners' success. Olivier Nkamhoua (13), Nicholas Tischler (12) and Eddy Edigin (10) were the other three players to score in double figures. Only Justin Jaworski (27) and Mathis Dossou-Yovo (15) managed that for Oldenburg.
Despite the home side's good start, which put it 32:22 ahead after 13 minutes, the thrilling encounter was on a knife-edge for a long time. Chemnitz even trailed 52:56 (26') in the third quarter after a weak start after the break. However, the Niners produced a 10:0 run from 62:62 (29') to 72:62 (32') to decide the game in advance. The club from Saxony benefited first and foremost from its better shooting percentage from the floor (56 percent: 45 percent) and its supremacy under the boards. Whereas Oldenburg grabbed just 25 rebounds, Chemnitz snapped up 35.
