Handball Bundesliga club SC DHfK Leipzig has found a successor to center Maciej Gebala. The 20-year-old Luka Rogan is moving from Serbian champions RK Vojvodin to Saxony for the new season and has signed a two-year contract. This was announced by SC DHfK on Tuesday. At the same time, the club announced that right wing Moritz Strosack will move to second-division club SG BBM Bietigheim after the season.
"The first contact with SC DHfK came about through coach Rúnar Sigtryggsson. His son is my age and we often played against each other with the national teams. But I also know Marko Mamic and many other players, because I've been following the Bundesliga all my life," said Rogan.
The DHfK coach praised: "I've followed Luka at U19, U20 and most recently at the U21 World Championship in Germany. He was an important player in this successful Serbian national youth team. He plays at European level with his current club and has made the leap to the senior national team. Luka is an aggressive circle player who can also cover in the inside block."
