Handball Bundesliga club ThSV Eisenach has already announced the signing of Oskar Joelsson for the coming season. The 24-year-old backcourt player comes to the Wartburg city from Swedish league leaders Ystads IF, the club announced. The 1.97-meter-tall Joelsson is currently his club's top scorer.
The native of Helsingborg is "a hopeful, ambitious young man who, at the age of 24, is on the cusp of the best handball age," said Eisenach's sporting director Maik Nowak. Joelsson signed a contract in Eisenach until June 30, 2027.
After head coach Misha Kaufmann left ThSV in the summer, the departure of national player Marko Grgić, who is being courted by many top clubs, is also possible. Joelsson would be a possible replacement.
