The appeal hearing against the red suspension of RB Leipzig captain Willi Orban has been postponed. As the German Football Association announced today, the hearing will take place on Thursday (13:00) instead of Monday next week. Orban has lodged an appeal against the decision of the sports court to ban him for two championship matches. The defender will remain suspended until the hearing, meaning he will miss the Bundesliga top match at champions Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday (18:30/Sky).
Orban had stopped VfL attacker Myron Boadu with an emergency brake in the 85th minute of the 1-0 win against Bochum last Saturday and was shown the red card for his actions. Coach Marco Rose had subsequently hoped for a reduced penalty as his central defender had allegedly touched the ball lightly.
