Sebastian Hinze will take over as coach of handball Bundesliga club ThSV Eisenach in the new season. He succeeds Misha Kaufmann, who is moving to Stuttgart. The club made the announcement on Facebook. Hinze will receive a three-year contract. He is leaving the Rhein-Neckar Löwen, which he also coached for three seasons. It had already been clear since December 2024 that he would not be continuing with the Löwen.
Hinze was first a player and then coach in Erlangen for ten years. He achieved promotion to the Bundesliga twice with the team. He then moved to the Löwen, with whom he won the DHB Cup in 2023.
The 45-year-old is set to continue Kaufmann's successful work in Eisenach. He had led ThSV into the Bundesliga and twice to relegation.
