HSV Hamburg turns the game around against Leipzig

Handball Bundesliga club HSV Hamburg won its home game against SC DHfK Leipzig after a strong second half. In the end it was 33:32 (13:19) for the North Germans. Frederik Bo Andersen scored eight goals for Hamburg. Luca Witzke, Franz Semper and Viggo Kristjansson scored five goals each for Leipzig.

Leipzig got off to a brilliant start. In particular, the interplay between director Luca Witzke and center Moritz Preuss posed major problems for the home side's defense. Goalkeeper Kristian Saeveras was also immediately on hand to make important saves. As a result, HSVH's Head Coach Torsten Jansen asked his team to call a timeout for the second time at 3:7 (14').

Hamburg continued to struggle. The home side trailed by seven goals five minutes before the break after William Bogojevic made it 17:10 for Leipzig.

The game turned completely around after the break. The Hanseatic club tied the scores again at 19:20 (38') through Jacob Lassen. Both teams now engaged in an open exchange of blows. Hamburg missed three seven-meter penalties in a row, but Moritz Suter's goal to make it 30:29 (55') finally turned the game around. A save by Hamburg goalkeeper Mohamed El-Tayar and Sauter's 33:31 (59') decided the game.
