Leipzig will host Bremen on Sunday to kick off the rest of the season. They have never lost to the Hanseatic side in their own stadium.

After the humiliating 1:5 defeat at Bayern Munich just before Christmas, RB Leipzig want to start the new soccer year with a much more successful start. Coach Marco Rose's team will welcome SV Werder Bremen, who are just two points off the pace, for the restart of the Bundesliga. Xavi Simons and David Raum are expected to make their comebacks to the starting XI after missing several months with syndesmosis tears.

Rose is impressed by Werder's consistency in the coaching position, where Ole Werner has been in charge since November 2021. "They've let him work for a few years and that's noticeable," said Rose. "They have clear processes and are very well-rehearsed, regardless of who plays in the starting eleven. They are one of the best teams in the Bundesliga when it comes to offensive switching."
