The handball players of SC DHfK Leipzig have booked their third home victory in this Bundesliga season by the skin of their teeth. Despite a weak second half, the team of coach Runar Sigtryggsson defeated last-place HBW Balingen-Weilstetten 26:25 (14:8) on Sunday afternoon. Before 4252 spectators was Viggo Kristjansson with eight goals the best thrower of the SC DHfK, which improved with now 10:12 points on rank nine.
The Leipziger got the better start and led with 3:0, before the Balinger came after seven minutes to their first goal. It was a game at a moderate level in the first half, but after an increase in tempo in the middle of the first half, the hosts pulled away to 12:6 (23rd). Balingen rebounded again and again at the strong 5:1 defense of the Leipziger, which led sovereign to the break.
In the second passage the guests started with clearly more determination and shortened with a 3:0 run on 11:14 (34.). While Balingen scented his chance, the Leipzigers did not fall in the attack more much. Consequently, Filip Vistorop managed to equalize the score at 20:20 (51) with a powerful throw. In the 54th minute, Balingen took the lead for the first time in this game (23:22). In the closing phase Oskar Sunnefeldt had a significant share in the fact that the Leipzigers with three goals in a row to 26:24 the game again on their side pulled.
