The German show jumpers are waiting for a victory in the major competitions at the World Cup tournament in Leipzig. The most important jumping competition on Saturday was won by Brazil's Yuri Mansur , who prevailed in the Leipzig Championships with his horse Vitiki ahead of the Dutch rider Willem Greve with Grandoradoe. The previous evening, Switzerland's Steve Guerdat had won the World Cup qualifier with Looping Luna.
In the championships, Marie Ligges ensured the best placing of the local participants, riding to fourth place. The 25-year-old rider from Ascheberg remained penalty-free in the jump-off with Ballerina, but rode far too slowly for a better placing.
The highlight of the show at the exhibition grounds is the Grand Prix on Sunday, where the World Cup points are also awarded. After ten of 14 stages, French rider Kevin Staut is in the lead and is therefore just as certain of qualifying for the final tournament in Basel at the beginning of April as German rider Hans-Dieter Dreher. The professional from Eimeldingen is the best German in fourth place in the rankings.
