The bosses at RB Leipzig cannot yet guarantee that Xavi Simons and Dani Olmo will stay. Interest from Paris St. Germain, FC Bayern, FC Barcelona and Manchester City.

The bosses of RB Leipzig are still unable to publicly guarantee that Xavi Simons will remain at the Saxon Bundesliga club for another season for the 21-year-old Dutchman. "As things stand today, I can't promise that Xavi will return to training in Leipzig after the US tour," RB managing director Johann Plenge told "Kicker" in an interview.

The 39-year-old added: "But I can promise that we will have done everything we can to ensure that he stays in Leipzig. We have very good arguments against Xavi and against Paris St. Germain. These arguments count - and not how often and loudly we make them public."

Simons is said to have turned Bayern down

According to the media, FC Bayern are also said to be interested in Simons. However, according to a report by the pay-TV channel Sky, the Dutchman is said to have turned it down. Leipzig and Paris are in the process of finalizing a new loan deal. The broadcaster did not name a source. Simons was loaned to Leipzig by PSG last season.

There is also still some speculation about Spain's European champion Dani Olmo. He will be missing from the Saxons' trip to the US, with Olmo still recovering from the European Championship and the celebrations.

"Dani is held in high regard and is our player - and that will still be the case when we start training again after the trip to the USA and nothing happens until then. He played a very strong European Championship, so it was clear that other top clubs would come knocking," said Plenge. "Transfers are part of the business and are a source of income. But it's also just one of many. One thing is clear: we won't sell a player for less than he's worth."

The deadline for an exit clause allegedly amounting to 60 million euros has expired. FC Barcelona and Manchester City in particular are said to be interested in Olmo. He moved from Zagreb to Leipzig in January 2020 and his contract with RB is valid until the end of June 2027.
