RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose will do without tips from Jürgen Klopp ahead of the Champions League match against his former club Liverpool FC. "Kloppo is in Mallorca looking after his wife, his dog and his children," said Rose after the 2-0 away win in the Bundesliga against FSV Mainz 05. He will do everything, but not call Klopp, the 48-year-old emphasized. "He needs his rest."
In the summer, Klopp stepped down as manager after nine years at Liverpool FC and announced that he would be taking a break from coaching. On January 1, 2025, he will now take over strategic soccer tasks at Red Bull as "Head of Global Soccer". Klopp is happy that he can now relax a little, said Rose. "And I don't begrudge him that."
RB face Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday evening (21:00/DAZN) and are already under pressure in the home game. The Saxons have zero points after the first two matchdays. Things are looking much better in the Bundesliga. Leipzig are still unbeaten. In Mainz, RB kept a clean sheet for the fifth league game in a row.
