The three-match ban for Filip Kusic of third-division soccer club FC Energie Cottbus remains in place. This was confirmed by the sports court of the German Football Association. The 28-year-old defender will therefore miss the second-placed team in the table on Saturday at home against Erzgebirge Aue and on April 5 at TSV 1860 Munich. Kusic had already had to watch the 1-0 win against SV Sandhausen last weekend.
The suspension is based on an assault by the 28-year-old in the league match against Hannover 96 II on March 11. After a free-kick, a duel broke out between the Cottbus defender and Hannover keeper Robin Kalem in stoppage time.
In the opinion of the referee, Kusic had kicked Kalem, who was lying on the ground - and was shown the red card. The Lusatians appealed against the penalty imposed by the DFB - without success.
